Our Board is accountable for our long-term success. It’s made up of the Chairman, and our executive and non-executive directors.
Together, they set our values and, along with our Group Executive, lead our culture.
Our Board decide our strategy. They’re responsible for making sure we have the resources, risk approach, controls, and governance we need to deliver it.
But they can’t do or decide everything. The Board delegate to our Group Chief Executive Officer, who in turn delegates responsibility for specific operations to members of the Group Executive.
The Board's role is to provide entrepreneurial leadership of Aviva within a framework of prudent and effective controls which enables risk to be assessed and managed.
Our Group Executive
Our Group Executive is made up of our executive directors and senior executives. They usually meet twice a month. It’s an opportunity for our Group Chief Executive Officer to discuss strategic, financial, reputational and commercial matters.
Our Group Executive isn’t itself a decision-making forum. Each member of the Group Executive has accountability for their own business area, which is subject to oversight of and control by the Board.
