Aviva France, a major player in life assurance and long-term savings, fund management and general insurance, announces the launch of Aviva Sourds, a new dedicated reception service for deaf and hearing-impaired customers.
The number of people affected by a severe, profound or total hearing impairment in France today is estimated at 500,000*.
Aviva France, a major player in life assurance and long-term savings, fund management and general insurance, announces the launch of Aviva Sourds, a new dedicated reception service for deaf and hearing-impaired customers. The service is designed to facilitate contact with those specific customer groups.
With Aviva Sourds, Aviva France further underlines its commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Aviva Sourds is aimed at the company's signing deaf, oral deaf, hearing-impaired and late-deafened policyholders.
An information and explanation service for insurance policies
Customers with questions about life assurance policies (savings, pensions, retirement) or general insurance products (health, home, car) can contact two professionals (one deaf and one hearing) who provide support to the distribution networks.
The Aviva Sourds service is based on the insurance and sign language expertise of Aviva employees as well as the use of new communication technologies:
- Two workstations equipped with a webcam and Skype telephony software enable the LSF (French Sign Language) representative to make visual contact with their customers.
- A dedicated e-mail address and telephone line.
A dedicated reception area
At the headquarters of Aviva in Bois-Colombes, a room has been fitted out with equipment including an induction loop and an O.Ray module (which filters out ambient noise for the comfort of the hearing aid wearer). This space can be used for meetings with deaf and hearing-impaired customers, annual appraisals for employees with hearing difficulties or recruitment interviews with candidates.
