With the Hurricane Igor assessment and clean-up well underway, Aviva Canada Inc (Aviva Canada), one of the country’s leading providers of home, auto, recreational vehicle, group and business insurance, would like to applaud the quick response and dedication of their insurance partners throughout Newfoundland and Labrador.
“It is the preparedness and dedication of the hardworking insurance professionals on the ground that enable communities to recover from such catastrophes,” said Maurice Tulloch, president and CEO of Aviva Canada.
“I would like to personally thank our broker partners along with Crawford & Company, ClaimsPro, Adjusters Inc, Cunningham Lindsey, and our many vendors including contractors and body shops, for their speedy response in helping us meet the needs of our customers in Newfoundland and Labrador.”
Aviva Canada informs residents of what to expect in the coming days:
- If they have not already, residents will hear from insurer and who will assess their claim. This is done to prioritise the damages of those most adversely affected.
- Damages will be quantified through a visit with one of our adjusters and arrangements will be made to complete repair and replace damaged property.
- Adjusters and contractors will move to complete the emergency repairs to minimize further damages, to make home habitable. These actions will also reduce health concerns such as the growth of mould.
This particular storm has put a lot of pressure on the local infrastructure and contractors will be focusing on those most badly hit first. As the area has experienced six-months worth of property damage claims in a single week, residents with lesser damage are asked to be patient with the repair timing.
Aviva Canada’s broker partners are working closely with our claims teams to return all residents back to their regular routines. Aviva Canada would like to thank Aon Reed Stenhouse, Cal LeGrow Insurance, Crosbie Job Insurance, Fairway Insurance Services, Marsh Canada, Munn Insurance, Safety Insurance Services (Nfld), South Coast Insurance Agency, Steers Insurance Limited and Wedgwood Insurance.
Aviva Canada policyholders with any questions are urged to speak to their assigned adjuster, their insurance broker or call the Aviva Dartmouth office at (902) 460 3100 or toll-free at 1 800 565 7153.
