France: Aviva adds to its range of unit-linked products with 15 new diversification funds

In view of the high volatility of the financial markets since the beginning of the year, Aviva Vie is still recommending that unit-linked products, which perform better in the long term, are chosen when setting up life insurance portfolios, whilst providing close guidance for the customer. The launch of 15 new funds is in line with this Good Advice approach.

Specialising in unit-linked products, Aviva Vie has based the success of its range of funds on three strong convictions:

  1. The strategy of tailoring the asset allocation to the customer's personal situation is the key to investing in unit-linked products;
  2. The saver does not need a vast number of funds, just a coherent, diverse range based on sound, high-performing funds. A smaller range also allows greater familiarity with each fund, so as to give the customer better advice;
  3. Progressive investment is the best way to protect a portfolio against the "ups and downs" of the markets, which are inevitable over a long period of investment. This applies particularly to dynamic funds, as the situation of the markets in the last two months has shown.

By adding 15 new diversification funds to its range, Aviva Vie is reaffirming its convictions and reinforcing the coherence of its range. This is based on the following classification:

  • Essential funds: These are the core of customer asset allocation and are mostly managed by Aviva Gestion d'Actifs.
  • General diversification funds: These represent a smaller share of customers' investments. They enable them to branch out into a wider range of asset classes;
  • Themed diversification funds:Aimed at discerning investors, these are oriented towards highly specific areas, involving a higher risk.

The new eligible funds meet the requirements and objectives of bullish investors wishing to diversify their savings by investing part of their capital in certain specific asset classes, in addition to the traditional funds offered by Aviva Gestion d'Actifs. They cover various geographical areas (Europe, Asia, America, Emerging Markets) and different sectors (energy, finance, environment, health, etc) and investment themes such as Socially Responsible Investment.

For customers with a prudent financial approach, Aviva has also set up a new mutual fund: Aviva Sélection. This new fund will be incorporated in the new asset allocation for the Prudent Approach recommended by Aviva Vie.

The marketing of these 15 funds is based on a segmented approach focussed on clients, their personal situation and their objectives, using an online asset allocation tool. This enables the client to be offered a specific asset allocation based on his Investor Profile.
