Today, 25 January, the final twice-monthly report on the number of customers for Pillar II will be presented to the CNPAS. This report covers contracts signed in the period 7-17 January 2008.
The total number of contracts signed in the final two weeks of the subscription campaign reported by Aviva Administration Company for a Private Pension Fund is 72,078. These contracts will now be subject to a short-fuse validation process carried out by the National House of Pensions and Other Social Insurance Rights (CNPAS).
"The marked increase in the number of subscriptions in the last two weeks is first and foremost down to the fact that Romanians became aware, as we approached the finishing line, of the fact that if they don't express their own choice, the state will make that choice for them. This message was supported in all areas of the media by the majority of administrators, as well as by representatives of the Oversight Committee for the System of Private Pensions. We are pleased that, through the network which we have created, we've succeeded in collecting a total number of over 320,000 subscriptions by the close of the subscription campaign," stated Shah Rouf, CEO Aviva Romania.
