Yesterday Commercial Union introduced a new logo and a new dynamic image, symbolising the company's next stage of development. An important element of this is an individual life insurance with regular premium - New Perspective, its flagship product. At the same time, CU has launched their new website, www.cu.pl, which now has a greater focus on clients' needs.
New logo symbolising change for the better
The launch of the new logo, strongly identifying Commercial Union Poland with its parent company Aviva, has been in preparation for several months. After 15 years spent building a visual corporate identity associated with navy blue, CU is launching a new image, which is more modern, dynamic and optimistic. The launch of a new logo and visual corporate identity will create a more effective organisation, perceived as a financial institution rooted in the Polish market (Commercial Union) and at the same time with a European and global perspective (Aviva).
"We believe that this is the right time to introduce the new logo, expressing our ambitions in our growing status with Aviva, as well as the values of our brand: integrity, progressiveness, performance and teamwork. Using the colour yellow, which is rarely used in the Polish financial sector, we are building a unique image of a bright company close to its clients. We hope that our brand's new characteristics based on the concepts of future planning, optimism and openness will bring us many new clients, especially young ones," emphasises Adam Uszpolewicz, chief executive, CU Poland group.
The public will be informed of the changes to CU's logo and visual image through a short but intensive TV campaign, as well as through the press and the internet.
CU planned that by 15 October all company documentation (folders, leaflets, company paper, business cards, and plaques) will include the new logo and reflect the new image. Over the last couple of months, the scheme to utilise most of the previously printed material has been implemented.

Along with the change of logo and image, a new and improved Commercial Union website was launched. The main focus is the client's needs, which can be met through CU insurance and investment services. The services are presented in a more transparent and attractive way to existing and potential clients alike. The new internet site has a unique element for the Polish market - on the home page we present profiles of the best Commercial Union agents.
"We aim to utilise our website to a greater extent to acquire new clients and to offer further functions to benefit clients online. We will reach a milestone later this year when we introduce CU motor insurance sold by telephone or on the internet," says Uszpolewicz.
New Perspective - flagship life insurance
The change of logo, image and website symbolises the new dynamics of Commercial Union, whose aim is to maintain and expand their participation in key features of the insurance and financial market. Since 1994 CU has been a leader on the market in individual life insurance with regular premium.
"An important element of our strategy is to maintain and expand our leading position in this market segment which is characterised by greater stability than single premium insurance," explains Stephen Marini, a deputy general manager of CU Life.
An important role in achieving this aim will be played by New Perspective, an individual unit-linked life insurance based on a regular premium - now introduced by CU Life as its flagship product.
New Perspective was prepared on the basis of customer satisfaction polls and the expertise of CU insurance agents. The results above all showed that clients expect a modern, flexible deal, combining protection with investment for the whole family, enabling easy access to make amendments to their contract as their lives change.
"We are launching an offer which I is client-centric. New Perspective is adjustable, where the scope of the contract for life insurance can be dynamically altered to suit the client's needs. A new family version of the insurance is also being launched. The client can protect himself/ herself as well as family for unfortunate accidental events such as health loss and loss of capacity to work," says Anita Bogusz, CU Life board member.
New Perspective also provides the capacity to pay additional money into the policy's investment account, which facilitates capital accumulation for specific purposes, such as retirement or children's university fees.
"We have also raised the amount for which a person is insured and there is no obligatory medical examination during the risk assessment. For instance, if an insurance applicant is under 35, we have raised the limit from 200 to 300 thousand zlotys, however, for applicants between the ages of 36 and 50, the limit has been raised from 150 to 200 thousand zlotys. We have also reduced risk payments to approximately 60% of the average market value. An important aspect of our deal is the high level of allocated premiums for investments and the very good results of our capital funds, with investment histories exceeding 10 years," emphasises Anita Bogusz.
