Grant Barrans, chairman of Aviva Russia's supervisory board and director - Aviva Europe, and Pierre-Olivier Bouee, director - Aviva, Central & Eastern Europe, opened Aviva's new sales branch in Moscow.
Aviva Russia CEO Andrei Doubinine joined Grant and Pierre-Olivier at the opening ceremony to welcome the new branch director and her team of 70 sales staff.
Located downtown Moscow in a beautiful historic building, the office will support Aviva's growth in Moscow focusing on selling a range of individual products.
Moscow, the capital of Russia, with a population close to 14 million, represents a huge untapped potential with the level of life insurance penetration of just over 1%.
Opening the new sales office, Grant Barrans said: "Russia represents a significant business opportunity for Aviva, given the country's rapid economic growth and the low level of penetration of life insurance.
"Aviva launched its DSF sales force less than a year ago and we are delighted to see the excellent progress that the Russian team is making".
Andrei Doubinine said: "The opening of the sales office will further increase our presence in Moscow with the purpose to provide professional financial advise to a larger number of customers. We have consistently focused on recruiting high quality financial consultants and invest into their training and workplace environment. This new sales office in the center of Moscow reflects our commitment to high standards in everything we do".
Aviva now has two sales offices in Moscow, opened within less than a year of the retail launch, and looks into further expansion in Moscow and other regions in Russia.
