Czech Republic: Aviva Life Insurance sees boost of regularly paid premiums

In 2006 Aviva životní pojišťovna, as focused on the development of regularly paid insurance premiums, where year-on-year growth achieved 11.7%. Growth in this segment, representing a primary funding source for the company, is considerably outstripping growth of the insurance market as a whole, currently around 6.7% (according to preliminary data from the Czech Association of Insurers for 2006).

The quality of the result is potentiated by the positive development of other indicators. As of 31.12.2006 total assets stood at 2,483.4 million CZK, of which 2,372 million CZK were ascribed to financial placement, with 24% growth compared to last year. Technical reserves at the year-end reached 1,990.5 million CZK, which represents a growth of 28.3% against the previous year.

"Although the life insurance market dynamics are still not as substantial as we would wish, we are pleased that Aviva has still been able to maintain the growth of regularly paid premiums, even considerably above the level of the insurance market as a whole," comments Pavel Matoušek, chairman and general manager of Aviva životní pojišťovna, as.

The company regularly innovates its product range to fully match market trends and add value for its clients. In 2006 Aviva introduced its new product Aviva Easy Life, which soon became a core product due to the unexpectedly high interest from clients. The quality of its products is also confirmed by Talisman, the life insurance for children, which again won an award in the Golden Crown financial products competition.

Clients of Aviva Life Insurance who opt for investment life insurance now have a new choice of 12 investment programmes. Thanks to professional asset management, one of the existing programmes - the "Strategic investment programme" - designed primarily for equity and other variable-yield securities, produced an average annual yield of more than 19 % over the past five years, placing it among the most successful on the market.
