Lookers, ranked number five in the top 100 used car dealers, has appointed RAC to provide its Inspected service at three major used car supermarkets in the UK.
The deal, covering three sites in Bristol, Essex and Burton-on-Trent, is designed to give Lookers customers greater peace of mind as they buy a used car.
Every RAC Inspected vehicle comes with a written RAC report on its condition, covering up to 166 physical checks that ensure it is mechanically and structurally sound.
The three Lookers car supermarkets, Bristol Trade Centre, Essex Trade Centre in Witham and Ian Shipton Cars in Burton-on-Trent between them sell around 13,000 used cars a year from a variety of manufacturers.
Jeff Dillon, senior group used car buyer at Bristol Trade Centre said: “We are pleased to have signed this contract with RAC. We chose them because RAC is recognised as being an independent voice when inspecting vehicles which we retail to our customers. The RAC accreditation means every customer can enjoy peace of mind when buying from us and help ensure safe motoring during ownership of their vehicle.”
Ron Richards, RAC’s senior corporate partnerships manager said: “This is a very significant contract for us, resulting in a sizeable increase in the number of cars that will be RAC Inspected, and giving us a higher profile in the car supermarket sector.
“We are convinced that this service will give Lookers used car buyers much more confidence when they visit these supermarkets. In addition, Lookers used cars will be promoted on the new ‘RAC Inspected’ consumer website shortly. Prospective buyers will be able to search and view for their next purchase, and we expect this to increase sales for Lookers.”
