From the beginning of 2007 Piotr Kucharski has been taking over the responsibility for strategy and management of IT in the CU Poland group from John Lapsley, a deputy general manager of CU Poland distribution company.
Piotr Kucharski (born in 1968) joined the Commercial Union Polska group in 2001 taking the position of IT executive director. He was responsible firstly for all group solutions and IT services including solutions supporting customer service and the CU distribution network. Earlier, in 1998-2001, he was employed at Bank Handlowy in Warsaw as a director of banking operations and technical development in the retail banking department (handlobank). During 1993-1998 he was a business analyst and project manager at Bank Handlowy – he implemented several business and IT projects concerning banking and document operations and maintaining stability of bank operations. Piotr Kucharski studied Physics at Warsaw University. He has also undergone several IT training courses.
Piotr Kucharski is married with two children. He likes travel and exercise. He is interested in geography, music and history of maritime wars.
CU Poland Group includes six insurance and investment companies. It services over 3 million customers and manages assets greater than 45 billion zlotys. Over 3,000 tied insurance agents are employed in the distribution network of CU group.
