Netherlands: Delta Lloyd Group to partner TEAM ABN AMRO in Volvo Ocean Race

Delta Lloyd Group is the official partner of TEAM ABN AMRO in the Volvo Ocean Race, the most extreme sailing race in the world. Through this partnership Delta Lloyd intends to highlight its cooperation with ABN AMRO and increase its brand awareness.

TEAM ABN AMRO is entering two boats. One of the boats was christened in Rotterdam on Saturday 27 August. The other boat was already christened in January. The difference between the boats is that one is crewed by highly talented sailors under 30 and the other, called ABN AMRO ONE, is crewed by top professionals with Mike Sanderson as skipper. Entering two boats increases the chance of winning the Volvo Ocean Race.

The sailing race takes place once every four years and starts on 12 November in Vigo in Spain. The boats travel 31,000 nautical miles from Vigo to Cape Town, Melbourne, Wellington, Rio de Janeiro, Baltimore, New York, Portsmouth, Rotterdam and Gothenburg, where the race finishes in June.
