Australia: Keep track of your super contributions

Members of a run-of-the-mill superannuation fund usually have no idea of their current superannuation balance. Yet, those who are part of Norwich Union Super Solutions can check their balance every day of the year, simply by using SuperNet.

With SuperNet, members are able to log onto the internet and have immediate access to the history of their superannuation investment and how the plan is progressing.

Members aren’t the only ones to benefit from ‘SuperNet’ – Norwich Union’s internet based superannuation administration tool.

Independent Financial Advisers and employers can now transfer important data from their Microsoft Excel files to SuperNet, therefore streamlining all their client data.

And how did Norwich Union discover what clients wanted and needed? According to the Managing Director of Norwich Union Life, Allan Griffiths, it was all about listening to the people who use the system and discovering what features they needed to ‘do business better’.

“People are now very internet savvy – with one in every two homes connected to the web - and they know exactly what they want from a system. Norwich Union has worked very closely to give our users what they need,” commented Allan. “For example, system compatibility with microsoft products is very important to business owners. Many of our users were demanding a product that could easily transfer data between systems – so that’s what we’ve given them.”

As one of the first companies to offer on line reporting for superannuation, Norwich Union is continually looking at ways to enhance the internet offer for all our clients.

SuperNet is designed to relieve the administration pressures associated with managing a superannuation plan. It is used by Independent Financial Advisers plus employers and their staff who are part of Norwich Union Super Solutions.

“With SuperNet, employers can get back to their real business focus rather than spending too much time managing superannuation,” said Allan. “The SuperNet administration system is on line, easy to access and saves real time and money by reducing the amount of paperwork as well as cutting down on the numbers of balance related calls.”

“All users of SuperNet will see a real difference in the new system. We have steam-lined the site and ensured that we have a new straight forward system for Financial Advisers, employers and staff,” said Allan.
