The health insurance contributions paid into obligatory schemes by the self-employed are mostly found to be insufficient in cases of disability or death, and indeed non-existent or poor in the case of incapacity to work. In order to respond to the specific needs of these professions, Aviva France, a key player in life insurance and long-term savings, assets management and damages insurance, is launching Aviva Senséo Libéral.
This health insurance contract dedicated to the self-employed (apart from the health professions) benefits from innovative developments and "a la carte" guarantees in the case of stoppage of work, disability and death. It enriches the existing Aviva Senséo.
The Aviva Senséo Libéral health insurance contract is designed to ensure that the self-employed (apart from the health professions) can enjoy sufficient income in the case of stoppage of work, disability and death. It completes the Aviva Senséo range and provides a broad range of ‘a la carte’ guarantees which enable tailor-made protection that fits as closely as possible to the needs of the self-employed. With its innovative developments, it makes it possible to offer even more effective customised protection, and it can be subscribed within the framework of the Madelin law.
Christian Martin, life products and health insurance director, actuary of Aviva France, states: “The launch of Aviva Senséo Libéral and the developments in place over the entire health insurance range make it possible to respond as accurately as possible to the specific needs of the clientele, particularly that of self-employed professionals. This confirms the innovation capacity of Aviva and its desire to secure a position as a key player on the health insurance market which is part of the strategic bases of the commercial development of our networks”.
Major strong points of the Aviva Senseo Liberal contract
Innovations
- Because each profession has its own special features, it has a broad choice of daily indemnities in the case of temporary incapacity to work with the possibility to decide on its mode of indemnity:
- The flat rate mode which ensures the payment of a fixed indemnity determined upon joining, or
- The indemnity mode, the amount of which completes the benefits paid by the obligatory schemes.
In the case of continuation of activity beyond 67 years, this adjusted guarantee may be extended to 70 years for the regulated professions. - In order to take practical account of the handicap represented by disability in the exercise of their profession, Aviva Senséo Libéral is the only contract to propose a partial disability annuity starting with 16% of disability to the regulated self-employed professions. The assessment is made by medical consultancy and takes into account the practical impact of the disability in the exercise of their profession, without taking into account a possible professional re-classification.
Simplified conditions of subscription and high amounts of guarantees
- The subscription procedures are streamlined. A simple health questionnaire is sufficient for a maximum death capital of €250,000 subscribed until 55 years of age.
- The levels of the guarantees for death, disability and temporary incapacity to work are high; up to €7,500,000 for the basic death capital.
- The age upon subscription and cessation of the guarantees for the optional guarantees in the case of incapacity and disability, are brought to 67 years of age respectively.
An existing range of higher performance
The developments made in the Aviva Senséo Libéral contract also benefit from the contracts of the existing range:
- Aviva Senséo Médical reserved to the medical and para-medical professions, whether they are exercised by self-employed professionals or salaried staff.
- Aviva Senséo designed for salaried staff (executive/non-executive), craftsmen, trade representatives and company directors;
- Aviva Senséo for Agricultural Operators designed for agricultural company directors affiliated to the non-salaried MSA.
