UK: Aviva revamps Group Personal Accident, Sickness and Business Travel product

Aviva has extended the spread of cover in its new Group Personal Accident (GPA), Sickness and Business Travel policy as it looks to grow its underwriting appetite in this area.

Aviva has extended the spread of cover in its new Group Personal Accident (GPA), Sickness and Business Travel policy as it looks to grow its underwriting appetite in this area.

Aviva’s revamped “People and Places” product offers a number of new extensions including closure of airspace, kidnap and ransom cover, nuclear, chemical and biological cover and war cover outside your country of domicile.

Lisa Wild, underwriting manager – speciality lines at Aviva, said: “Recent research from Aviva Healthcare suggests that 50% of employers consider long term absence to be an issue for their business and 34% worry about how, should an accident happen, they would balance obligations to employees while managing the needs of their business1.

“Our revamped 'People and Places' product will go some way towards alleviating these concerns, with extended cover introduced following feedback from brokers and their customers. Cover will be beneficial to businesses with more than five employees and bespoke solutions are also available for more complex cases.

“All of our GPA, Sickness and Business Travel customers will continue to benefit from a dedicated team of claims experts, who are based in the UK and offer a guaranteed two-day response to all new claims.

“We also have in place a new team of business development managers, who have underwriting authority to help brokers meet their individual customers’ requirements.”

Other extensions added by Aviva as part of the new product include cover for rehabilitation expenses, search and rescue and evacuation from life threatening situations.

Wild continued: “With both a new product and team in place, we aim to reinforce Aviva’s reputation as a credible GPA partner with a policy that can rival the best available in the marketplace.”

Aviva’s GPA, Sickness and Business Travel cover is available as part of its commercial combined product set as well as a standalone policy.
