UK: Aviva enhances Fast Trade, as user numbers grow

Aviva has added three new products to Fast Trade, its online trading platform, expanding the range of packages that brokers are able to transact online.

From 21 March, Aviva’s Cargo Annual product will be available to brokers via Fast Trade. The addition takes the number of packages being traded on Fast Trade up to a total of nine, after Computer and Manufacturing & Wholesale were added in recent months.

Gareth Hemming, regional broker director at Aviva, said: “We have seen a steady growth in the number of brokers using Fast Trade since its launch two years ago and have now built around 8,000 regular users. Trading online makes it quicker and easier for brokers to work with us and more than 90% of our commercial package quotes are now processed via Fast Trade.”

Fast Trade provides brokers with the ability to quote and buy a policy in less than five minutes and the ability to download copies of documentation instantly. Mid-term adjustments, cancellations and renewal processing can also be actioned via Fast Trade, making it a full cycle processing system, and the fast track referral process Aviva has in place is designed to respond to all referrals within one hour.

Fast Trade also makes it clearer for brokers to know which trades Aviva can accept and decline, and those which need to be referred to an Aviva underwriter.

Hemming continued: “We are always looking at further ways to reach brokers and have used feedback to develop Fast Trade into a full cycle processing system for commercial package business. The addition of the Cargo Annual, Computer and Manufacturing and Wholesale products to Fast Trade will make it easier for brokers to transact these packages.”

Siobhan Edmunds, commercial account handler at insurance broker Uttings, said: “Aviva is always listening to broker feedback to ensure that the products and services are constantly improving, for the benefit of our clients. As well as a fast, reliable and easy online service, the Fast Trade underwriting team is always incredibly helpful and ensures that any referrals are processed very quickly.”

The platform was launched in July 2009 with six commercial packages originally available via Fast Trade: Residential Property Owners; Self-Employed; Office and Surgery; Shop and Salon; Pub, Restaurant and Hotel and Commercial Property Owners.

Fast Trade is accessed by the broker website www.aviva.co.uk/broker which also provides product information and an online claims management service, including the option to customise the site to a broker’s particular needs, which means commercial and personal lines brokers can choose to see only product information relevant to them.
