Aviva Investors hire real estate multi-manager fund manager

Aviva Investors has further enhanced its real estate multi-manager capability with the announcement today that it has appointed Catriona Allen as fund manager, real estate multi-manager.

Aviva Investors has further enhanced its real estate multi-manager capability with the announcement today that it has appointed Catriona Allen as fund manager, real estate multi-manager.

Catriona joins from BlackRock Investment Management, where she was portfolio manager of the BlackRock UK Property Fund of Funds which transferred from BlackRock to Aviva Investors in late November along with the BlackRock European Property Fund of Funds.

Both funds have now been rebranded and are now known as the Aviva Investors UK Real Estate Fund of Funds and the Aviva Investors European Real Estate Fund of Funds respectively*. 

Reporting to John Gellatly, head of real estate multi-manager (REMM) in Europe, Catriona’s responsibilities will include day to day management of both the Aviva Investors Fund of Funds, as well as providing broader UK and European real estate expertise to the multi-manager team.

Catriona began her career in 1995 at Investment Property Databank and was Senior Property Analyst at Alecta until 2005 working on their European portfolios.

Commenting, John Gellatly said: “Catriona’s appointment is the final piece in the successful transfer of BlackRock’s real estate Fund of Funds to Aviva Investors. She brings a wealth of real estate expertise and talent to the team, and her appointment completes a seamless transition to Aviva Investors.”

Further commenting, Nick Mansley, global director of multi-manager, said: ”With the transfer of the real estate fund of funds to Aviva Investors now complete, our focus turns to growing our Fund of Funds business as interest in the property sector returns alongside the broader multi-manager service. Catriona is an excellent addition to our team, and a strong complementary fit to the rest of the team led by John.”
