Today Aviva Life Insurance is launching its campaign “Aviva rewards a healthy lifestyle” which aims to encourage Romanians to take a look at their lifestyles and appreciate the need to have a healthy lifestyle.
Studies undertaken in recent years show that a large number of Romanians are worried and concerned about their state of health and the large number of serious illnesses encountered amongst their acquaintances, friends or family. At the same time, very few of them have put aside funds especially for these unfortunate situations. What is more, the statistics are worrying: 250,000 Romanians die every year, 52,000 of these cases resulting from cardio-vascular disorders, and 45,000 from cancer. At present, 200,000 Romanians are ill with cancer, but not even half of them manage to get treatment, and for those who do, treatment is extremely expensive.
“This was the premise on which we launched this campaign. Our aim is to demonstrate to everyone that it is easy and beneficial to have a healthy lifestyle and this brings with it significant benefits.
"Our intention is not to force Romanians to give up their current lifestyle, but simply to make them aware that they have other alternatives and to let them know that, regardless of what choice they make, there are financial products available to them that will help them to get through the hardest of times,” stated Shah Rouf, CEO of Aviva Romania.
What is the aim of the campaign?
The aim of the campaign is to ring alarm bells amongst Romanians with regard to their lifestyles, to encourage them to take a look at them and to want to make changes for the better, because lifestyle is the cause of several major health problems.
What’s driving the campaign?
When it comes to your lifestyle, with Aviva you can benefit from significant reductions in the premiums you pay*. What is more, there are now financial products available to you that can cover the costs of your medical treatment, so that, regardless of the choices you make, you can be protected.
The www.aviva.ro/traiestesanatos website has been launched in support of the campaign to promote the principles of healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle. Available to users of the site is an online test to allow them to analyse their lifestyles, a BMI (body mass index) calculator and a calculator that identifies the number of calories which they should be consuming per day, as well as a list containing the nutritional value of different foods, so that people are aware of what they are consuming. Plus there is also a competitions area on the website offering a whole host of prizes. Visitors are encouraged to share their own experiences and it helps them to learn what a healthy lifestyle means.
“The support offered by insurance companies is more often than not associated with the most unpleasant times in people’s lives. Regardless of whether it’s a heart attack, a vascular disorder or cancer, medical consultations and treatment for those kinds of critical illness generate a great deal of expense, which most of us can’t afford. And this is where we come in – to support you and to help you, so that times like these don’t affect you. By paying a modest amount now, you have the benefit of protection in times like these, and your loved ones have the benefit of financial security in those unforeseen circumstances,” Shah Rouf concluded.
