Ireland: Hibernian Aviva Health increases number of scan centres with Vista Primary Care for MRI examinations and CT scans

Hibernian Aviva Health has increased the number of scan centres where members can access MRI and CT scans with the announcement today that members can now access Vista Primary Care Campus.

Hibernian Aviva Health has increased the number of scan centres where members can access MRI and CT scans with the announcement today that members can now access Vista Primary Care Campus, Ireland’s leading primary healthcare campus for public and private patients. Vista Primary Care has now been accredited by Hibernian Aviva Health to provide MRI examinations and CT scans for its members bringing the total number of treatment centres covered by Hibernian Aviva Health to 153.

Vista Primary Care was the first healthcare facility in the country to offer the “Widebore” MRI Scanner (Siemens Espree), which, with its wide opening, is particularly suited to obese and claustrophobic patients.

Commenting on the agreement, Ulick McEvaddy, chairman of Vista said: “Since we opened our doors to patients in 2008, we have worked hard to be inclusive to as many patients as possible. Traditionally, MRI scans have been very challenging for obese and claustrophobic patients. Our Scanner is the first Widebore MRI scanner in the country and we are delighted that Hibernian Aviva Health has accredited Vista to provide these services for their members. The patient-friendly wide opening design of the Scanner makes it easier for these patients to have an MRI examination.”

Brian Scollard, director of provider affairs at Hibernian Aviva Health, said today: “Hibernian Aviva Health is committed to being first to provide consumers in Ireland with access to the latest healthcare technology. Making the Vista Primary Care facilities available to our members is one more way of looking out for them and continuing to ensure that Hibernian Aviva Health members have access to more hospital and treatment facilities than any other insurer.”

Hibernian Aviva Health members will be fully covered for outpatient MRI Scans and CT scans, with a direct payment facility in place between Hibernian Aviva Health and Vista.
