From today customers can purchase buildings insurance and a monitoring service in a single package. New customers who take advantage of this offer in July and August and who take out an insurance policy for two or three years, will receive a two-month monitoring package for their buildings insurance free of charge.
This joint offer is in response to the increased demand for home insurance and security services during the holiday period. Every new customer who takes out buildings insurance with Aviva General Insurance Company SA (formerly Commercial Union) for two or three years in July and August will be able to enjoy a two-month buildings insurance monitoring service with Securitas Alert Services.
Aviva and Securitas have signed an agreement to offer joint services to their customers. This is the first of this type of offer on the Polish property insurance and security services market. Similar projects have proved popular in other European countries where insurers and property security firms have created complex property insurance packages for their customers.
Aviva offers home insurance packages under the name of Mój Apartament (My Apartment) and Moja Rezydencja (My Home) which offer a good level of protection, including protection against fire and other acts of God, such as gale force winds, hail and flooding.
An example of one of the advantages for Aviva insurance customers is that our insurance against lightning – unlike most companies – covers not only the direct effects of a property being struck by lightning, but also the indirect effects of such an occurrence. It is very rare for a property to be directly struck by lightning. It is much more common for lightning to strike a remote transformer, which may cause permanent damage to electrical equipment in the home as a result of indirect power surges. Aviva will pay out compensation in these situations as well.
