On Sunday morning a team of Lithuanian climbers left for the Tien Shan mountains in Kyrgyzstan with the aim of climbing to an unnamed mountaintop and naming it after the millennium of Lithuania’s name.
Živilė Bazienė, product manager at life insurance and pensions company Aviva Lithuania, who has climbed various mountains all over the world, is a member of the team, said: "I am very grateful to Aviva Lithuania for the moral and financial support it provided for my participation in this expedition. Such support gives me even more inspiration to climb and reach for new heights."
The expedition to the Tien Shan mountains is organised by the Lithuanian Travellers Union and the Lithuanian Climbers Association. The Lithuanian tricolour should appear on the unnamed 4800-metre-high summit on 5 August, after a four-day climb.
