Turkey: AvivaSA’s fund size over 1.5 billion

Thanks to its successful performance in the initial months of 2009, AvivaSA Pension and Life, is maintaining its leadership with a fund size of 1.5 billion TL. The total fund size of the Personal Pension System as a whole exceeded 7 billion TL.

AvivaSA made a strong start to 2009 in spite of the global crisis and difficult economic conditions, and with the successful performance displayed in the first months of year, it has maintained its leadership in the sector. AvivaSA is in leadership position with a fund exceeding 1.5 billion TL in the Personal Pension System which has reached 7 billion TL in size.

According to the Pension Monitoring Centre figures of 10 April 2009, AvivaSA, with a total of 287,043 participants, a fund size of 1,599,001,330 TL, and a total contribution share of 1,311,378,818 TL, is in first place within the sector. With 297,354 personal pension contracts, AvivaSA lies in second place by that particular measure, and it also has 22,275 group-linked personal pension contracts, 15,538 employer group pension certificates, and an overall total of 335,167 contracts and certificates.

AvivaSA general director Meral Egemen indicated that work continued apace and went on to say that: “In 2009 we wish to continue the success we had in 2008 which closed with us in leader position in terms of fund size. We aim to maintain that position of leadership. In spite of the negative impacts of economic conditions and the crisis atmosphere, we worked successfully in the first months of the sector brought the size of our fund over the 1.5 billion TL mark. We believe that the successful performance we showed in the first months of 2009 will be maintained throughout the rest of the year."
