France: Aviva launches its 'Assistance Plus' pack

With the “Assistance Plus” pack, Aviva policyholders will be offered enhanced breakdown support.

With the “Assistance Plus” pack, Aviva policyholders will be offered enhanced breakdown support.

All Aviva car insurance policies automatically include road assistance that can be supplemented by optional covers, such as the “0 km” breakdown pack or All-Risks Comfort cover. The new “Assistance Plus” pack builds on this à la carte approach, with levels of cover adapted to the needs of the policyholder. The “Assistance Plus” pack is applicable from 0 km and improves or complements the amounts covered and the services offered by the other road assistance cover already offered by Aviva. In order to ensure the best protection for policyholders, the ceilings for towing and taxis are based on kilometres travelled, rather than cost.

Towing cover
Cover of up to €3,000 per year for towing a vehicle that has broken down, been involved in an accident or is unroadworthy following a theft or attempted theft is granted. The distance between the place where the vehicle was immobilised and the garage to which it is towed must not exceed 100 km.

Taxi cover
Return taxi fares are covered up to 50 km from the place where the vehicle was immobilised, to enable the policyholder to return home or go to a car hire company, hotel, station or airport.

Continuing the journey or returning home
Cover for the cost of continuing the journey or returning home can always be added to the “accommodation costs” item, provided in the policy.

Provision of a replacement vehicle, without towing condition
In the event that the vehicle is immobilised following an accident, fire, breakdown or attempted theft reported to the local police, the policyholder is provided with a replacement vehicle of an equivalent standard and size while his or her vehicle is being repaired, without towing condition.

Moreover, the vehicle replacement period has been increased to:

  • Eight days following a breakdown,
  • 21 days following an accident or fire,
  • 40 days in the event of disappearance following the theft of your vehicle.
  • Up to the value of €3,000.

The “Assistance Plus” pack is available from €3/month for customers who already have the “0 km” pack or All-Risks Comfort cover.
