The Aviva France group, in line with its policy of providing sound advice and getting closer to customers, has been working since last Saturday to help victims of the recent Bay of Biscay storm ("Klaus") of 24 January 2009.
The Aviva France group, in line with its policy of providing sound advice and getting closer to customers, has been working since last Saturday to help victims of the recent Bay of Biscay storm ("Klaus") of 24 January 2009.
The group companies Aviva Assurances and Eurofil have already streamlined and simplified processing and payment of customer claims.
Aviva Assurances, through its network of 900 general agents in France, and Eurofil, specialist in direct insurance by phone:
- Are making advance payments via their general agents and remote advisers, in accordance with customer needs and requests,
- Have waived the requirement for wind-speed verification for claims made in the departments affected,
- Are already paying for all work on homes against receipts of up to €3000, without expert assessment, for all claims made within ten days,
- Are waiving the excess payments normally provided for in private policies for any damage resulting from the storm,
- Have extended the normal claim deadlines by five days to 28 February,
- Will take into account the circumstances facing customers affected by the storm if they are temporarily unable to meet their insurance premium payment dates.
Aviva Assurances customers may contact their general agent directly. To activate the Aviva Assurances guarantee provided for in comprehensive home and car policies, and in more extreme cases to obtain financial assistance, customers should call 0825 804 848.
Eurofil customers should call:
- 0800 037 380 to make claims,
- 01 47 14 15 15 to obtain Eurofil assistance.
Aviva Assurances and Eurofil shall remain open to specific cases and shall endeavour to handle claims made by customers facing particularly difficult circumstances with understanding.
