Germany: Delta Lloyd restructures asset management

On 4 August 2008 Delta Lloyd set up a new fund distribution subsidiary: Delta Lloyd Asset Management Vertriebs GmbH. On 5 September 2008 Delta Lloyd Immobilien GmbH was renamed Delta Lloyd Anlagemanagement GmbH.

Wiesbaden-based financial services provider Delta Lloyd set up a new subsidiary on 4 August 2008: Delta Lloyd Asset Management Vertriebs GmbH. The new subsidiary is taking over distribution of the Luxembourg-based Delta Lloyd L SICAV Fund set up by the Delta Lloyd Group in Germany, with immediate effect. The range of funds includes for example the tried and trusted Delta Lloyd L Water & Climate Fund, based on the four elements, which invests in technology and companies combating climate change and water scarcity.

The CFO of Delta Lloyd Deutschland AG, Martin Heuvelmans, has been appointed chief executive of the new company. Sibel Herring MBA is to take on the running of the institutional marketing. She had already taken the reins of institutional marketing for the launch of the Delta Lloyd L Water & Climate Fund at Delta Lloyd Investment Managers GmbH. "The idea behind setting up this new subsidiary is to give further impetus to investment in investment funds in Germany. At the same time we will be working in this area in close conjunction with our Dutch parent company, Delta Lloyd NV Delta Lloyd NV has an excellent fund portfolio and we want to make it available to German investors," explains Christof W Göldi, chairman of the board of directors at Delta Lloyd Deutschland AG. Delta Lloyd is one of the leading fund management companies in the Netherlands.

On 5 September 2008 Delta Lloyd Immobilien GmbH was also renamed as Delta Lloyd Anlagemanagement GmbH. This subsidiary is now not only going to be responsible for administration of the Group's real estate and management of the Delta Lloyd Real Estate Fund, but also for mortgage administration and investment management. Previously investment management came under Delta Lloyd Investment Managers GmbH, which was sold in sections on 1 July 2008 to the Dutch-based KAS Bank.

Martin Heuvelmans is also the chairman of the board at Delta Lloyd Anlagemanagement GmbH, with Thomas Augustini and Herbert Leidl remaining as directors. Holger Bennewiz is taking over running the investment management arm and Miriam Paucken will remain responsible for mortgage administration.
