Czech Republic: Aviva Spain thanks Fernando Torres

Insurance company Aviva launched a press campaign in July in Spanish daily newspapers to thank Fernando Torres, the Liverpool football star and member of the Spanish national team.

Insurance company Aviva launched a press campaign in July in Spanish daily newspapers to thank Fernando Torres, the Liverpool football star and member of the Spanish national team.

Aviva was responding to how Torres scored the winning goal in the final of Euro 2008, bringing the title back to Spain. The advertisement, which proclaims: "Now we are greater than ever. Thank you Fernando", was published in the daily newspapers El Mundo, El País, Marca and As.

Fernando took out an occupational incapacity insurance policy with Aviva in May of this year.

The 24 year-old footballer started his professional career in 2001, playing for Athletico Madrid. He won his first cap for Spain in 2003.
