On Monday, as a specialist insurer, Delta Lloyd is launching three new bespoke solutions for entrepreneurs in the building, garage and metal sectors. With these special covers, insurance advisers can respond to the specialist requirements of these entrepreneurs. In connection with this, Delta Lloyd is making three sector reports available free of charge. With these reports the insurance adviser will be well-prepared when meeting with entrepreneurs.

Bespoke solutions
In all three sectors, totalling 67,000 entrepreneurs, business is complicated. Harry van der Zwan, director marketing & sales: "Delta Lloyd has looked into the trends and risks in these sectors through personal meetings with entrepreneurs amongst other sources. It is clear from this that the building, garage and metal sectors are highly specialised and complex. Each project is new, each project is different. A market in which, together with Delta Lloyd, the insurance adviser can stand out through his specialist knowledge. Our specialists have developed specific, bespoke insurance solutions and services. Thus Delta Lloyd creates a way of dealing with these complex risks together with the adviser."

Building and metal sectors
The following covers can be taken out on a bespoke basis:

  • Public liability insurance for the building sector can be extended to include pile-driving, fitting-out and extensions, cover of property in care, custody, or control and liability under warranty clauses.
  • Public liability insurance for the metal sector can be extended to include the cost of fitting-out and extensions, cover of property in care, custody, or control, pure financial loss, freedom of terms of delivery and global cover.
  • Due to the increased liability risks, public liability insurance is offered as standard for €2.5 million per claim.
  • Combination of van and damage to load: one policy, one invoice.
  • Machinery and equipment: including hired machinery and equipment.
  • Construction All Risks insurance: offers financial security when carrying out building projects. The insurance covers all parties involved in the building project, such as the client, site management, main and subcontractor(s), architects, draughtsmen and consultants.
  • Fire insurance: also for businesses that process wood and plastics as well as metal.

Garage sector
Delta Lloyd will be placing the much in demand garage insurance with the specialist NOWM (part of Delta Lloyd Insurance). As the risk carrier, NOWM will offer and accept. An express appointment procedure is possible for Delta Lloyd intermediaries who are not agents of NOWM.

Sector-specific risk management advice
Insurance advisers can request specific risk management advice for these sectors. Entrepreneurs receive a detailed report about prevention, risk control, the probability and extent of risks and advice.

During the promotion period until 1 August 2008, the first 100 insurance advisers to request advice for one of the sectors concerned can offer this to their client for 600 euros. (Normal fee 1,500 euros.) If the entrepreneur follows up the prevention advice and takes out insurance with Delta Lloyd, the advice is free. (Maximum one set of advice per intermediary)

Expansion of sector reports for insurance advisers
The sector reports are in line with Delta Lloyd's ambition to become the leading SME insurer in the Netherlands. The addition of the building, metal and garage sectors brings the number of sector reports to twenty. With these reports the adviser can go to see entrepreneurs well-prepared. The reports provide an insight into figures, trends and developments in the sector and the effect of this on risks, amongst other aspects. Based on this information, Delta Lloyd has carried out an analysis of the main insurance requirements for each sector. The reports can be downloaded free by insurance advisers from the Delta Lloyd Digital Domain (DDD).

Health and fitness of staff
With the fitness service, the entrepreneur helps his staff to get and stay healthy with online health programmes and discounts on fitness activities. They can also take fitness tests and lifestyle courses free of charge.
