The compulsory social security scheme provides little protection for the self-employed (entrepreneurs, managers, professionals, retailers and tradespeople, etc) against life's risks (old age, death, accidents, illness). Aviva Assurances estimates that on retiring, a civil servant receives about 90% of his final income, a manager 60% and a freelance professional just 20% to 45%. In order to offer the self-employed appropriate solutions for their status and situation, Aviva Assurances is launching, through its general agents, a promotion to enable them to take optimum advantage of the tax deductions permitted under the Madelin Law. This allows them to deduct premiums and contributions paid into all supplementary schemes for pensions, health insurance and provident insurance (up to €59,540 for pensions and €7,724 for health insurance and provident insurance for 2007).
Aviva Assurances is launching three promotional offers (health insurance, provident insurance and pensions) within the tax provisions of the law, accompanied by discounts or special offers valid until 30 June 20081:
- Up to three months' premiums free for the self-employed for any new "Santhia" health insurance policy taken out.
- 20% off the first year's premium for any new "Senséo" provident insurance policy taken out.
- First payment free up to €200 for any "ASR Attitude Stratégie Retraite" supplementary pension taken out.
The Madelin Act also allows the spouse to benefit from the provisions if he or she is registered as a spouse co-worker in the Trades Register or the Register of Companies and provided that he or she fulfils the legal requirements.
With these offers, Aviva Assurances and its 875 general agents aim to help the self-employed to prepare for their retirement and obtain peace of mind for the future.
