The function, attended by around 2,000 financial consultants, was held in an atmosphere of excitement now that AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat, child of the merger between AK Emeklilik and Aviva Hayat ve Emeklilik, has assumed sectoral leadership with its 25% market share. The first post-merger sales conference held in Antalya witnessed thousands of salespeople vowing to take AvivaSA to new heights by the end of 2008 with their increased sales targets.
This year, the theme of the sales conference, which is organised under a different theme each year, was "Roots and Wings". Aviva plc, rooted in its 316-year history, and the strength of Sabancı, the symbol of trust in Turkey, constitute AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat's roots, while its wings are formed by the giant sales organisation of more than 2,000 people. A colourful atmosphere was created as staff, having donned t-shirts adorned with eagles and wearing wings, vowed to act as the force which would put wings on AvivaSA and fly it into the future. Addressing the conference, AvivaSA managing director Meral Egemen thanked the financial consultants for their increased devotion to their duties in the course of the merger as they stood by their fields and customers, and said that AvivaSA's distinguishing feature was the faith of its sales team.
The conference was also addressed by AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat board of directors chair, Akın Kozanoğlu, board of directors member, Carl Boehr, and other directors, who stated that the positive and enthusiastic synergy created by the financial consultants would continue to grow and that AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat would become even stronger, recording sales even in excess of targets.
AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat board of directors chair, Akın Kozanoğlu, noted in his speech that 2008 sees the adoption of AvivaSA as an identity, and expressed the view that, within this identity, all staff would achieve great success and this would be the year in which 2+2 proves to equal 5. Managing director Meral Egemen pointed out that they had set out on the road as leaders and this leadership imposed an obligation on AvivaSA.
Egemen, noting that leadership could be maintained permanently by establishing a relationship of trust with customers, concluded her speech: "Let us not forget that social responsibility lies at the heart of our core activity. We are here to provide customers with prosperity and peace of mind. It takes a special willpower to make regular savings and insure oneself against risk. We are forever at our customers' sides as we instil them with the discipline to save. This is where our vision as AvivaSA lies; this defines for us the place to which we shall unfold our wings and go.

Following the speeches, an award ceremony was held at which hundreds of successful salespeople were showered with awards. The financial consultants, whose enthusiastic songs and slogans rang out around the hall for the duration of the conference, raved with even greater enthusiasm to the songs of famous singer Hande Yener at the event staged in the evening. Hundreds of financial consultants, having partied the night away and basked in their success, left Antalya with the vow to come together at the next conference to celebrate even greater success.
