Commercial Union Poland Life Insurance Company offers more than a dozen capital funds linked to individual and group insurances and PPE. The funds represent a wide range of investment strategies. CU is one of the few associations which can boast a ten year investment history of multiple capital funds.
"In spite of a deep correction in the assets market in the third quarter of 2007, the results for the whole of the past year can be described as a model for individual types of assets. Safe funds earned between 3 and 5 percent during the year, while equity funds earned around 12 percent. The negative results of funds with a share in foreign assets are an effect of the ongoing trend of appreciation of the Polish currency. The long-term results of the funds, within three to five years, are still excellent. It is still to be hoped that the next few years will be a good period for investment, and that 2008 will mirror 2007. In other words, after a weak start to the year the following quarters will bring a change of mood and situation on the stock market. The positive long-term outlook for our financial market is the result of the current situation and prospects for the Polish economy, which remain very good in spite of a small decrease in the GDP growth rate and a temporary increase in inflation," highlights Marek Przybylski, president of CU Investment Management, the company managing CU Life's assets.
The assets of the CU Life capital insurance funds are managed by the specialist company Commercial Union Investment Management (Polska) SA. It holds a licence from the Polish Securities and Exchange Commission to manage securities portfolios and offer investment advice. It is one of the largest asset management companies in Poland in terms of the value of the assets managed (in total more than 16 billion zlotys at the end of 2007).
