UK: RAC comes top for accident management

RAC has won the Accident Management category of the BusinessCar Awards for the second year running.

RAC has won the Accident Management category of the BusinessCar Awards for the second year running.

The awards are made up of three main sections; Headline, Car and Services Awards. The services section is broken down into sub-categories, including Accident Management, in which RAC has been voted top.

The 18,000 readers of BusinessCar magazine, website and e-mail newsletters vote for the winners online - the only awards in the industry to be voted for in this way.

BusinessCar editor-in-chief Tristan Young said: "Accident management is an increasingly important topic for business car managers and it's clear that RAC is providing what they want. The alignment of the firm's accident management department with its legal services division and the introduction of online tracking of the accident management process are two steps designed to ease the unpleasant business of dealing with an accident."

He continues: "Joining the two departments has made it easier than ever to recoup those out-of-pocket accident expenses such as insurance, excess and the cost of damaged property. And the online tracking means fleet managers can follow any claim's progress from collection at an accident site through the bodyshop stages of repair to getting the car back on the road."

Phil Mairs, of RAC, said: "We are delighted to come out top in this award category for a second year running. It is a huge achievement for all in our Accident Management team and a testament to our passion and commitment to customers.

"It is also encouraging that this award is voted for by the readers themselves, as these are the people who really count and value the service we provide."
