Russia: New sales office opens in Tatarstan

ZAO Aviva, the Russian division of the insurance company Aviva, the leading provider of life and pensions to Europe and a major insurance group in the UK, has announced the opening of a new sales office in the Republic of Tatarstan, as part of its strategy aimed at expanding into Russia's regions.

The office in Kazan is the second regional office of Aviva, which has began expansion to Russia's regions. Within the framework of this expansion strategy, the creation of a network of regional offices has begun in Russian regions. Aviva is planning to open offices in over forty cities of Russia before 2010.

ZAO Aviva is planning to grow actively in Kazan by providing all financial consultants who have been successfully selected and trained by the company to begin working there before the end of this year. The new sales office is aimed primarily at working with private individuals, who will be offered the entire range of the company's life and accident insurance programs. The company is planning on long-term co-operation and therefore aims to meet the highest expectations of its clients by offering advanced insurance solutions and impeccable service combining the best Russian and international traditions.

Grant Barrans, director of Aviva Europe and chairman of the board of directors, Aviva Russia, said: "The Russian insurance market is one of the most promising in the world, which is very well demonstrated by our rapid sales growth since the beginning of the company's work with private individuals in February 2007.

"The opening of Aviva's office in the Republic of Tatarstan is an important step to make Aviva's life insurance programs accessible to all residents of the Russian Federation," he said.

Aviva is interested in the Republic of Tatarstan because it is one of the most economically developed regions of Russia. The republic is rich in natural resources, has a powerful and diversified industry, a high intellectual potential, and qualified workforce. The federal bodies rank the republic second after Moscow in the economic development rating and third after Moscow and St. Petersburg in the social development rating.

Opening an office in Kazan we will be able to offer our clients additional services and consultations, as well as new long-term life insurance products.
