Romania: The www.aviva.ro website is visited by over 100,000 individual visitors

Almost two months since the launch of mandatory private pensions (17 September 2007), the www.aviva.ro website has received a total of 107,481 individual visitors.

Almost two months since the launch of mandatory private pensions (17 September 2007), the www.aviva.ro website has received a total of 107,481 individual visitors. This equates to an increase in traffic of over 800% compared with the same period last year, according to data provided by the www.google.com internet audience monitoring service. On average visitors spend 2.41 minutes on the site and the majority of them register for one of our newsletters or fill in a form to take advantage of free financial advice.

The most heavily accessed area is that of frequently asked questions, where visitors can add questions which will be answered as quickly as possible, and the most frequently read questions are:

  1. What extra does Aviva offer me, compared with other competitors?
  2. How can I calculate the value of the private pension which I will receive once I've made my contributions?
  3. What are the fees for the Aviva pension fund?
  4. If I take out a private pension, do I still get a state pension as well?  How do I make contributions into the private pension fund?
  5. Why are young people aged 35 and under obliged to contribute to a private pension fund?

Romanians aged between 16 and 35, who have to join a private mandatory pension fund by 17 January 2008, are extremely busy people, who spend most of their time in front of a computer at the office, surfing the internet. Any free time that they have is limited, and so meeting with a marketing agent to get hold of all the information that they need is proving to be difficult. In order to meet the needs of this category of customers, Aviva has developed on-line communication platforms especially created for them.

"In October, Aviva launched an on-line application called 'Pensii Expres' which provides visitors with the option of registering their on-line choice for Pensia Viva. Pensii Expres is a specially developed application for very busy and self-taught people, who don't have the time to contact a marketing agent in order to sign an application form for a mandatory private pension; once they've filled in the form they will be contacted and visited by an Aviva marketing agent," stated Shah Rouf, CEO Aviva Romania.

Online communication has been used to maximum effect by the Aviva company in the development of its advertising campaign for mandatory private pensions, and in this vein it launched the www.scorulvip.ro website, which aims to help Romanians to understand how prepared they are for when they retire and to raise awareness amongst them of the importance of financial planning for the future, even from a young age.

Continuing this series of innovations, there has been a piece of software on the www.aviva.ro/fun website since September graphically titled "I'm not afraid to see what I'll look like in old age", which offers all visitors the chance to have a picture of what they'll look like in 20-30 years' time.
