UK: Canopy keeps RAC Auto Windscreens' customers on the road in all weather

Whilst Britain experienced the wettest summer since records began, RAC Auto Windscreens has kept fleet drivers on the road and saved them from costly downtime thanks to its latest innovation.

The use of the Under Cover canopy has meant that in less than a year, RAC Auto Windscreens has completed over 1,100 jobs that would otherwise been have been deferred or lost.

Quick to assemble and easy to transport, the Under Cover canopy ensures that whatever the weather, glass is repaired or replaced on the spot - in turn reducing vehicle down time costs and ensuring that fleet vehicles are back on the road in the minimum time possible.

Chris Bonsall, technical manager at RAC Auto Windscreens, said: "The canopy supports technicians in assisting fleet drivers who need to get back out on the road as quickly as possible.

"Dry conditions are essential for the bonding material used in the sealing process of windscreens to work properly. Before the introduction of the canopies, in wet weather  customers had to wait either for the rain to hold off, or visit one of RAC Auto Windscreen's fitting centres for a repair or replacement windscreen.

"Our technicians and fleet customers are at the mercy of the British weather, however, the canopy allows RAC Auto Windscreens to attend all jobs despite poor weather conditions, ensuring that fleet drivers are kept on the road."
