At the opening ceremony on 24 October, Grant Barrans, director, Aviva Europe, and chairman of the board of directors, Aviva Russia, told guests about Aviva's regional development strategy. He also recounted the group's roots in the city, which began in 1856, when the Northern Assurance Company (one of Aviva's predecessors) opened its office in St Petersburg.
Andrei Doubinine, chairman of the management board and CEO of Aviva Russia, added: "The new office in St Petersburg is the next step in the company's strategy aimed at expanding its presence in Russia.
"We are beginning active development outside Moscow, where the majority of our financial consultants will be working. We are currently creating additional workplaces in St Petersburg and we plan to offer jobs to over 5,000 Russians in the medium term."
The sales office is located in the centre of St Petersburg at Dobrolubova avenue, 8-A.
