At the recent launch of "The Eagle Centre for Excellence" in Colombo, chief guest, chairman - Insurance Board of Sri Lanka, Dr Gamini Wickramasinghe, commended the launch of the company's upgraded training facility. In his address to the gathering he commented "Eagle is known as a company which is quick to adapt to consumer needs. I congratulate Eagle on the initiative taken to establish this centre to enhance the knowledge and competency levels of the Eagle Insurance Agents".

Other distinguished invitees at the event were director general, Insurance Board of Sri Lanka - Lasinee Seresinhe, and Insurance Ombudsman, Dr Wickrama Weerasooriya.

Mrs Seresinhe in her speech also commended the initiative saying: "We are pleased to witness a launch of this nature, which is a timely move at a period, when the industry is facing difficulties in attracting and retaining the right talent. Eagle is known as a company which constantly strives to keep-up with international standards and maintains high levels in the skills-development of its work-force.

"The setting-up of ‘Eagle Centre for Excellence' amply demonstrates the company's commitment towards the development of its human capital," Mrs Seresinhe concluded.

With its state-of-the-art infrastructure, high-tech equipment and wide array of facilities the "Eagle Centre for Excellence" is one of the best in the region. Eagle is the first company outside UK to receive recognition from CIM-UK for its in-company training.

"Eagle developed the Centre to enhance the competencies of the sales-force in designing dynamic financial solutions to meet the changing needs of customers and to provide the best financial advice," commented managing director, Deepal Sooriyaarachchi. "Investing in people and people development has been a consistent core-strategy of Eagle. This latest investment of upgrading the Eagle training centre to international standards is a reflection of this."

Setting another benchmark in the industry Eagle has conceptualised a voluntary internal-certification course to certify technical competencies of the life field-force. As part of this initiative only specially trained and licensed sales professionals are allowed to promote unit-linked products to identified customer segments.
