Poland: Commercial Union first company to adopt Polish Chamber of Insurance best practice standards

Commercial Union Poland Life Insurance Company and Commercial Union Poland General Insurance Company are the first insurers which have submitted declarations of compliance with the "standards of best practise in insurance" prepared and recommended by the Polish Chamber of Insurance.

"By making a quick decision we wanted to emphasise that we pay great attention to actions strengthening the status of public trust institutions and to the corporate social responsibility," said Andrzej Gładysz, company secretary of the CU Poland group and member of the special team at the Polish Chamber of Insurance that prepared the "standards of best practice in insurance".

The "standards" give a detailed description of proper relationships between insurers and customers, competitors, brokers, supervisors and the media.

The Polish Chamber of Insurance will soon establish a Best Practise in Insurance Committee which will monitor insurer compliance with the accepted standards, enforcing their implementation as required.
