Spain: Aviva pension plans rewarded by Standard and Poor’s

Three pension plans from the Aviva group have been awarded the prestigious Standard & Poor's 2007 Best Pension Plan Awards. For more than 17 years, the Standard and Poor's Plan Awards have celebrated the successes of investment professionals in 19 markets and are recognised worldwide as a benchmark for assessing the performance of investment funds, pension plans and managers.

  • The prestigious awards, co-organised by the Spanish daily financial newspaper Expansión, acknowledge the year's best investment funds, pension plans and managers
  • Futurespaña Renta Variable, Caixa Galicia Dinero Activo and Plusfondo Renta Fija have been rated best in their respective categories

Three pension plans from the Aviva group have been awarded the prestigious Standard & Poor's 2007 Best Pension Plan Awards. For more than 17 years, the Standard and Poor's Plan Awards have celebrated the successes of investment professionals in 19 markets and are recognised worldwide as a benchmark for assessing the performance of investment funds, pension plans and managers. These independent awards acknowledge the evolution of funds and managers that demonstrate experience and consistency in their performance in the largest and most competitive European fund markets.

The award winners were:

  • Futurespaña Renta Variable, rated first in the "Eurozone variable income over three years" category.
  • Caixa Galicia Dinero Activo, rated first in the "Eurozone short-term fixed income over three years" category.
  • Plusfondo Renta Fija, rated first in the "Eurozone fixed income over three years" category.

Both Iván Martín, manager of the Futurespaña Renta Variable fund, and José María Lecube, manager of Caixa Galicia Dinero Activo and Plusfondo Renta Fija, agree that "these awards reflect the ability of our group to overcome the difficulties arising in a tricky year, maintaining a solid, balanced management style that is the fruit of knowledge and experience in the investor market.
