Canada: Automobile insurance rates reduced for inexperienced drivers

New drivers and young drivers will be paying lower rates for automobile insurance, as long as they have not had any accidents or convictions.

New drivers and young drivers will be paying lower rates for automobile insurance, as long as they have not had any accidents or convictions. Aviva Canada Inc, one of Canada’s leading property and casualty insurers, is taking the first step in providing affordable automobile insurance for inexperienced drivers with the introduction of a “Clean Start Discount”. The “Clean Start Discount” is available to drivers licensed less than six years, who have not had any convictions or accidents. The reduction will vary depending on where the driver lives and their driving experience, but ranges from 0 to 70%.

“The discount gives new drivers and their parents, a significant reduction in their automobile insurance bill”, says Jennifer Power, senior vice-president of Aviva’s Atlantic region. “The benefit is available to both new drivers with their own policy and to parents with children listed as occasional drivers.”

Aviva provides a broad range of home, automobile and business insurance products and services to its customers through a network of independent insurance brokers. Visit us at www.avivacanada.com to find an Aviva broker near you.
