Netherlands: Tidjane Thiam joins the supervisory board of Delta Lloyd group

Tidjane Thiam is appointed as a member of the supervisory board of Delta Lloyd NV.

Tidjane Thiam (44) is appointed as a member of the supervisory board of Delta Lloyd NV.

Tidjane Thiam is appointed by shareholder Aviva plc and succeeds Philip Scott FIA (52), who joined the supervisory board in 2003. Philip Scott stepped down from the supervisory board as a result of a shift in responsibilities within the executive committee of Aviva.

Tidjane Thiam joined Aviva plc in 2002 as group strategy and development director from McKinsey & Company (Paris) where he was a partner. Appointed managing director of Aviva International in January 2006. Between 1994 and 1999, Thiam went back to the Ivory Coast, where he was successively chief executive officer of the National Bureau for Technical Studies and Development, and Minister for Development. He began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Paris, from 1988 to 1994. Thiam is a member of the Commission for Africa, established by UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Appointments is subject to consultation with the relevant regulators and consultative bodies.
