Volvo has renewed its contract with RAC for roadside assistance, coinciding with the companies’ 20 years of working together.
The renewal programme is the longest that RAC has secured with a major motor manufacturer and will cover more than 300,000 new and selected used vehicles.
Abu Shafi, director of corporate partnerships for RAC, says: “This long-term arrangement with Volvo is focused on giving its drivers the best experience possible at a time of need and, in turn, supporting the Volvo brand values of which safety is one of the most important.
“Volvo customers have high expectations of their cars and that extends to how they are treated if they ever require help at the roadside. That is why we are glad to be extending our 20-year partnership.”
The Volvo-RAC contract covers roadside assistance and breakdown recovery in the UK and mainland Europe (not islands such as Majorca etc) under the standard 12-month Volvo Assistance programme provided with all new as well as Volvo Selected Used Cars.

About RAC
With around seven million members, RAC is one of the UK's most progressive motoring organizations, providing services for both private and business motorists. Whether it's roadside assistance, windscreen repair and replacement, learning to drive, vehicle inspections and checks, legal and financial services or up-to-the-minute traffic and travel information - RAC is able to meet motorists’ needs. RAC incorporates BSM, RAC Auto Windscreens, RAC Direct Insurance and HPI.
Aviva bought RAC last year. The acquisition brings together RAC's powerful brand and customer base with the expertise and leading position in motor insurance of Norwich Union Insurance (part of Aviva). Norwich Union is the UK's largest insurer, insuring one in seven motor vehicles and with a market share of around 14%.
