Aviva has appointed David Metcalf as general manager finance – group, on a two-year secondment from the UK.
Currently director of group reporting production for Aviva plc group finance in London, Metcalf's newest appointment fills the vacancy created by Harry Efthimiou's transfer to the mergers and acquisitions team at Aviva plc in the UK.
Before joining Aviva plc, Metcalf was financial controller of Unum Provident Limited, the world's largest disability insurer. Prior to that, he had an extensive career with Ernst & Young.
He will assume his new role at Aviva's Melbourne headquarters from mid July, reporting to chief financial officer, Craig Brackenrig.
