Navigator today announced it has reached agreement with Manchester Unity to provide significantly reduced rates on Manchester Unity health plan options for Navigator Super Solutions Employer Service (“Navigator Business Super”) members.
Tim Cobb, general manager products, said Navigator Business Super members (including Super Solution Personal Option members) will have access to a range of health covers that are available to the general public at the special rate.
As well as the specially reduced rates, Navigator members will have no waiting periods for benefits that usually require two month’s membership,* and If they transfer from another health fund they will receive immediate benefits for a comparable level of cover.
“Health insurance is a popular additional benefit for super fund members,” Tim said.
“Many people see super as something that is only relevant in retirement. But with the health insurance benefit, Navigator members have a super-linked benefit that can be utilised now. Navigator is keen to help members enjoy a healthy and financially secure life now and in the future,” he said.
The deal follows a tender process to find the best fund for Navigator Business Super’s membership base. “We developed a comprehensive set of 17 criteria to judge the funds and after careful analysis we chose Manchester Unity as the best health insurance provider for our members,” Tim said.
As part of the deal, Manchester Unity will provide an exclusive website and a dedicated 1800 phone number for Navigator members.
Manchester Unity staff will also be available to conduct educational presentations at workplaces with Navigator Business Super.
Navigator Super Solutions Employer Service was launched in 1998 and today has more than 3,500 employer clients and over 90,000 members. The product has achieved superior external ratings such as the highest rating from Chant West (5 Apples) for small plans and the highest rating from Rainmaker (AAA Selecting Super rating).
