Aviva-Cofco has won the approval for a sales office in Xiamen, Fujian Province. We are the first foreign life insurer in the city, after launching the provincial branch in Fuzhou.
Xiamen, located in the east coast of China, is a major developing city with 1.24 million people. Xiamen is ranked 9th in China in terms of per capita GDP of US$4,660. Leveraging Aviva's position as the first foreign entrant to this city, the aim is to win 10% marketshare by 2010.
As in other markets, Aviva-Cofco will strongly promote the multi-channel distribution model in Xiamen.
The Xiamen office means Aviva-Cofco will have presence in 11 cities in China, namely four branches and seven sales offices.
