Czech Republic: Aviva Insurance has a new general manager

Pavel Matousek (43 years old) became the new general manager of Aviva zivotni pojistovna, as on 1 February 2006.

Pavel Matoušek (43 years old) became the new general manager of Aviva životní pojišťovna, as on 1 February 2006. A graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario, he began his career in North American insurance companies and has over 20 years' experience in the financial services sector. He has worked in five countries and four insurance companies in three continents.

Before coming to the Czech Republic he occupied managerial positions for three years at an insurance company in Seoul, South Korea. Since 2001 he has been active on the Czech marketplace, where first of all he directed ING's entry to the Czech retail banking bank market before leaving ING with the post of general manager retail for the Czech and Slovak Republics.

The new general manager is impressed with Aviva primarily for its dynamism and open attitude to the implementation of quality processes to support its own growth. Pavel Matoušek is convinced that in this open environment he can make successful use of his many years of international experience, leading Aviva to one of the foremost positions in the market.
