Clients can invest in two equity portfolios: Generation Gold and Giants.
Generation Gold is an international equity portfolio that invests in shares linked to the consumption pattern and purchasing power of senior citizens. The sub-sectors include asset management and brokers, biotechnology and specialty pharma, food, beverages and tobacco, leisure and transportation, life insurers, luxury goods, media, medical equipment, medical services and pharma.
The theme plays on the baby boomer generation which saw a marked increase in the number of births after World War Two. For the foreseeable future, boomers will remain the most influential segment of the population, as they have been all their lives. With the oldest baby boomers soon facing their 60s, their mindset and attitudes are changing. The emphasis has shifted to being healthy, wealthy, and active. However, many boomers find themselves living an unhealthy lifestyle and taking medications to remain active.
Giants is a “fund of funds” type of portfolio that buys the investment bonds of the largest and best-known European equity portfolios. This way clients can purchase the investment bonds of some well-known international asset manager, eg Rothschild, Fidelity, Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Gartmore or Franklin Templeton.
