Aviva Life Insurance, in association with Central Ground Water Board, Forum for Organised Resource Conservation and Enhancement (FORCE), an NGO working to preserve natural resources and GK-II, Welfare Association (GK-II RWA) have set up Rainwater Harvesting structure in the GK-II, "M" Block in South Delhi.

Aviva Life Insurance, in association with Central Ground Water Board, Forum for Organised Resource Conservation and Enhancement (FORCE), an NGO working to preserve natural resources and GK-II, Welfare Association (GK-II RWA) have set up Rainwater Harvesting structure in the GK-II, "M" Block in South Delhi. This project will have an annual potential to harvest more than 1,20,000 liters of water for the benefit of the local communities. The Company has also set up an environment corner "We Care", to sensitize children towards environmental issues.
The rainwater-harvesting project will help bring up the water table in the area. Mr Subhash Chopra, the local MLA inaugurated the project in a simple ceremony in the presence of Mr Vivek Khanna, director of marketing, Aviva Life Insurance, Mr Roshan Kapur, president of GK-II Welfare Association and Ms Jyoti Sharma, president FORCE. The children of the locality put up a colourful cultural program and poetry recitation on environment on the occasion. Mr Chopra urged the company to support the local community in its efforts by partnering in future water projects. Speaking on the occasion of the launch he said: “I welcome this project as it will definitely help improve the water situation in the area. We welcome similar responsibility from other corporates in conservation of environment in the city.”

We have been working with a number of NGOs and organized fundraisers across India to bring cheer to the lives of the underprivileged children and the elderly. The launch of this rainwater harvesting project marks our foray into environment conservation initiatives and we hope to partner with the local communities to launch more such projects in Delhi.”
The rainwater harvesting structure in GK-II has been scientifically designed to optimize the recharge through a filtration pit and recharge shaft.
