Commercial Union is the main sponsor of the 9th Elbląg Nights of Theatre and Poetry – Festival of Valuable Song, one of the most interesting and ambitious artistic events initiated in Poland in recent years. The Festival will take place on 24-27 August in Elbląg Old Town.
Commercial Union has supported the organisation of the festival since its beginning. The most interesting creative talents in the Polish musical scene, as well as debutants performing artistic songs will perform in Elbląg, a city in northern Poland. Permanent participants in the event are, for instance, the winners of the Actor’s Song Competition in Wrocław, the Student Song Festival in Cracow, the Competition for Interpretation of Agnieszka Osiecka’s Songs called "Let’s Remember Osiecka" (in Warsaw) and the Castle Meetings called "Let’s sing poetry" (in Olsztyn).
In this year’s event Stanisława Celińska, Katarzyna Groniec, Edyta Jungowska, Hanna Śleszyńska, Robert Rozmus, Artur Żmijewski, Paweł Kukiz and Zbigniew Zamachowski, all well-known Polish artists, will perform. As part of the Festival there will also be a competition of Włodzimierz Wysocki songs to mark the 25th anniversary of the Russian artist’s death.
For the first time in the festival's nine years history, not only were the best artists awarded but also the main sponsor, Commercial Union received a "Moonlight Statuette" for its continuous support of the event.

During the summer season, Commercial Union also supports other interesting cultural events. From 12 August until 4 September an exhibition called "Time of creation – art of the Aborigines" is open at the Green Gallery in Warsaw’s Old Town.
