Aviva life insurance's total gross written premiums reached 325.2 million crowns during the first half of this year, representing a 48% growth compared with the same period last year. This result puts Aviva in first place in this half year, not only in terms of growth rate for life insurance, but for the entire insurance market.

Assets of the insurance company reached 1,675 million crowns, of which 1,596 million crowns is represented by financial placements. Technical reserves as of 30.6.2005 amounted to 1,236 million crowns. Aviva also made an interim operating profit of 6.5 million crowns, substantially better than forecast by the current business plan, which expected planned losses due to further development projects.

"Our aim in the second half of this year is to maintain and, if possible, increase our rate of growth."
