Australia: Growth Pensions take off

Navigator today announced that sales of the newly released Growth Pension product are already gathering pace.

Navigator today announced that sales of the newly released Growth Pension product are already gathering pace.

Launched on 20 September 2004, financial advisers have recognised Navigator’s Growth Pension as one of the most innovative retirement products on the market.

General manager - products, Tim Cobb, said the financial adviser who sold the first Navigator Growth Pension realised this was the perfect solution for his client, who was looking to optimise growth opportunities over retirement as well as maximise Centrelink entitlements.

Financial adviser Scott Bickertson from Peachey’s Investment Services in Queensland was officially the first to sell a Navigator Super Solutions Growth Pension just a few days after launch.

In this circumstance, the Growth Pension was selected to complement a Navigator Allocated Pension in a blending strategy. This means the client benefits from the Growth Pension providing 50% social security asset test exemption and access to the higher Pension Reasonable Benefit Limit (RBL), while the Allocated Pension provides access to lump sum funds and greater payment flexibility.

"A blended financial plan, such as this one, is perfect for people who want to invest their retirement funds in growth assets, maximise their Centrelink eligibility and have access to their money if they need it," says Tim.

Tim says savvy financial advisers are quickly recognising the benefits of the Navigator Growth Pensions and are advising their clients of the benefits that growth products can add to a retirement income solution.

"The interest in this product has been excellent with a number of advisers already recommending Navigator Growth Pensions to their clients," says Tim. "This is a fantastic reaction and shows our products really meet the needs of the retirement market and that advisers are taking action now so their clients don’t miss out on the benefits."
