Aviva Insurance (formerly CGU) continues to live up to its commitment to providing choice in personal lines insurance for New Brunswickers. The company is pleased to announce the appointment of two more personal lines brokers in the province.

Aviva welcomes Tweedie & Brunswick of Edmonston, and Assurance de l’Anse of Grande Anse, as its newest business partners in the personal lines market. This brings the total number of New Brunswick brokers appointed by Aviva in the last week to three, the first being Aube & DeGrace of Bathurst.

These appointments are further proof that new regulations resulting from teamwork between the provincial government and the insurance industry are improving availability and choice of insurance offerings in the province.

"Due to The Huestis Group's long association and excellent relationship with Aviva Canada, we are pleased to have this opportunity to represent them in two of our brokerages in Northern New Brunswick,” says Sue McPherson, managing director, The Huestis Group.

“This move by Aviva Canada reinforces their support of the brokerage distribution system and New Brunswick consumers. Tweedie & Brunswick and Assurance de l'Anse will experience an improvement in their ability to offer their clients greater choice and competitive markets."

Joanne Baldwin, team leader, Assurance de l’Anse, agrees. “We enjoy serving the needs of our consumers and this announcement allows us to do so even better than before," she says.

“Unfortunately, due to the loss experience of insurers in our province, our area was not looked upon favorably for new broker appointments. The recent news of the appointment of our brokerage by Aviva Canada proves the recent changes in legislation aimed at reducing claims costs have had a positive impact on the direction they are seeking.”

Speaking on behalf of Tweedie & Brunswick, team leader Debbie Rioux says: “We are very pleased, as an independent insurance broker, to have Aviva Canada added to the list of excellent companies we represent. These are challenging and exciting times for our brokerage and the recent announcement by Aviva Canada brings with it more positive opportunities for our clients."

The company was established, as Tweedie & Berry, in 1926 by F Todd Tweedie. Aviva Insurance Company is a member company of Aviva Canada Inc, one of Canada’s leading property and casualty insurance groups. Visit us at avivacanada.com.
